Healthy Alternatives to Make Your Food Healthy & Delicious

Eating healthy can be a struggle when you feel like your food is plain and flavorless. But when it comes to eating nutritious foods it doesn’t have to be a struggle or restricting yourself from foods. Learning to substitute new food to your everyday foods will help you achieve better health, and help you develop healthy eating habits.

Here are some healthy alternatives:

  1. Greek Yogurt
    • Greek yogurt can be used in so many different ways. You can serve plain Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. One of my favorite treats is one cup of plain Greek yogurt with one scoop of chocolate protein. It tastes like chocolate pudding. Yum!
  2. Unsweetened Applesauce
    • Reduced your amount of saturated fat by substituting butter for unsweetened applesauce. (Butter can be replaced with half canola oil and half puree).
  3. Use fresh avocado on your sandwich instead of cheese or mayonnaise.
  4. Trying to reduce your fat intake, but need the high protein, replace a whole egg with egg whites.
